PIERPONT – Zettie Marie Hall, 69, a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother, passed away unexpectedly on January 1, 2026, at UH Conneaut Medical Center.
Born on December 2, 1956, in McDowell, Kentucky, she was the daughter of William and Zettie (Sloan) Marsillitt.
On April 28, 1976, Zettie married the love of her life, Leon Hall. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and the kind of partnership that stands the test of time. This April would have marked their 50th wedding anniversary—five decades of shared strength, devotion, and family. Zettie and Leon both worked hard through the years to provide a warm and loving home for their children and grandchildren.
Zettie’s remarkable work ethic was admired by everyone who knew her. She spent 33 dedicated years at Premix, where she became known as one of the hardest working women on the job. She retired in 2018, proud of all she accomplished and the friendships she built along the way.
Away from work, Zettie found her greatest happiness in caring for her family. She loved country music, she loved to cook, to tend her garden, and spend quiet moments doing her word search puzzles. But nothing compared to the joy she felt when surrounded by her grandchildren. Her face would light up the moment she saw them, and she often joked that she had no intention of ever sending them home. Her love for her family was her truest joy and the heartbeat of her life.
Zettie is survived by her loving husband, Leon; her son, Sammy (Julia) Hall; her cherished grandchildren, Thomas, Conner, Terry, Sammy Jr., Dylan, Ethan, Charlie, and Shelby; her great-granddaughter Mila and another great-grandchild on the way; and her extended family and friends who will always remember her warmth and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved daughter Amanda Knox in 2016, and her sisters Corrina, Alberta, and Nettie Marie.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at Czup Funeral Home, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula. Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Kenny Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Kellogsville Cemetery
