n Loving Memory of Will
Will entered eternity unexpectedly and tragically in Ashtabula County. Though our hearts grieve deeply, we rejoice knowing that Will is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
For many years, Will lived a transient life, traveling across the country and often experiencing homelessness. He loved adventure, scenic places, water, and the beauty of creation. California was one of his favorite places, and he often spoke of his journeys walking across America, from Maine to California. Though his life was not always easy, those who knew him came to see a gentle, innocent, and peaceful man with a childlike spirit.
Will did struggle with mental health throughout much of his life, but in this last season, those around him witnessed something beautiful take place. Through the love of Jesus Christ, there was healing in his mind, peace in his heart, and light returning to his eyes. The Lord brought comfort and restoration to a man who had endured many difficult years.
Will deeply loved animals and found joy in simple things. He was known for his tender heart, quiet nature, and dislike for conflict. He carried a softness that drew people to him and made others feel at peace in his presence.
In this last season of life, Will found more than shelter—he found family through the Body of Jesus Christ and Remnant Shores Church. He found people who loved him, walked beside him, and embraced him as one of their own. A church member befriended him, helped him find work in construction, and stood by him through this new chapter of life. Recently, Will received his first apartment and had begun building a new life. Most importantly, Will experienced the love, peace, and healing of Jesus Christ, and we had the honor of witnessing his baptism.
Though our time with Will was short, he became deeply loved by our church family. He may have entered our community alone, but he did not leave this world alone. Will was our family, and we will carry his memory in our hearts for years to come.
Will's church family will celebrate his life on Wednesday, May 27th at Remnant Shores Church, 604 W. 57th Street, Ashtabula, at 6:00 p.m.
Will is now finally home—whole, healed, and at peace with Jesus.
