W. James "Jim" Brindley
SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP - Jim Brindley passed away very peacefully in his own home on December 31, 2020.
He was born in Minerva, Ohio on July 27, 1937 the son of Willis and Minnie (Imobersteg) Brindley.
He graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1955.  
On January 10, 1959 Jim married Roberta "Bobbi" Butcher, his loving and devoted wife of almost 62 years.
He worked in manufacturing for 33 years and retired from Millennium in 1993. He attended Saybrook Methodist Church. He loved his family more than anything.  He enjoyed bowling and in his lifetime achieved three perfect "300" games.  He loved traveling and camping with his family.  He enjoyed his Honda Goldwing motorcycle and loved classic cars.  
He is survived by Roberta (Bobbi), his wife of 62 years; daughters Kim (Joe) Giangola, Kelli (Don) Martin, Kami (Bob) West and a son Kurt (Megumi) Brindley and AFS children Barbara (Andrew) Panzeri and Hiro (Yoshi) Tashima; grandchildren Joey (Vanessa) Giangola, Jordan (Troy) Testerman, Ashleigh (Jonathan) Mathew, Kiriko Brindley, Allison (Thomas) Smith, Willis Brindley, Hannah Powell, Bobi Brindley and Jared Powell. Step-grandchildren Taylor West and Brenda Hanson and 13 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his four sisters: Velma, Edna Mae, Kay and Billie. 
Jim was always concerned about the safety and welfare of others and due to the current pandemic private family funeral services will take place on Monday January 4, 2021 at the Saybrook United Methodist Church; burial will follow in Saybrook Township Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the church in his name.  Contributions can be sent directly to Saybrook United Methodist Church, 7900 Depot Road, Ashtabula, 44004.

The Brindley family would like to extend our sincere appreciation and thanks to Hospice of the Western Reserve for the care and kindness they gave Jim and our family.
