Victoria DelMonico Obituary

Victoria G. DelMonico, 82, passed away on Wednesday November 27, 2024 at the Geneva Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Geneva, OH.

She was born in Battle Creek, MI on May 29, 1942; the daughter of Victor and Georgina (Meacci) DelMonico.

After graduating from the Immaculate Conception school in 1958 and St. Peter's high school in 1962, Victoria entered the convent of The Sisters of Notre Dame in Cleveland, OH in July 2nd, 1962.  She received her habit and was given the name of Sister Mary Incarnata S N.D. on Jan. 3rd of 1963. By this time she transferred to The Sisters of Notre Dame Convent in Chardon, OH on Auburn Rd.  Victoria professed her vows there on Jan. 3rd of 1965.  She worked in the chapel as a sacristan from that time until she had to regretfully leave on Jan. 16th, 1969.  These years at the convent were filled with memories of joy and the greatest peace she had ever known.

She then worked at True Temper in Saybrook, OH until 1972, when she became the wife of Anthony Randazzo and stepmother to Bobbie Hayes (Louisiana), Karin (Colorado Springs, CO) and Sharon (Ashtabula).  God then blessed her with three children of her own who in turn blessed her with grandchildren.  Throughout it all, Victoria always remained very devoted to her faith and the Catholic Church.

Victoria enjoyed singing and listening to music, her favorites being Dean Martin, Andy Williams, Paul Anka and her absolute favorite, Barry Manilow.  Even through her saddest days, she always had a song in her heart.  She also enjoyed creating floral arrangements, as she had done in the convent, wreath/swag making, ceramics, gardening and interior design.

She is survived by her loving family: her daughters: Mariena Taggart and Mary Kapferer; her grandchildren: Steven Barnhart, Stephanie Barnhart, Drake Daniels, and Nevaeh Liszewski; her siblings: Mike DelMonico, Marge Hamilton, Karen Gross, Natalina Pier, and Maria Miller; as well as a very dear cousin Debbie Strmac who brought joy to the end of her days with visits and care.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Jacob Randazzo in 2017, her granddaughter Chaunee George in 2019; and her siblings: Nicholas DelMonico, Janice Miller and Daniel Miller; as well as her former husband Anthony Randazzo.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14th, 2024 at Our Lady of Peace (Mt. Carmel Church), 1220 E. 21st Street, Ashtabula.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM.  The family will hold calling hours from 12:00-1:00 at the church prior to the Mass on Saturday.
