Tyler Michael-Alan Smith Jr. (“TJ”)

Tyler Michael-Alan Smith Jr., lovingly known as “TJ,” was born on December 12, 2024, and passed away on January 1, 2026.

TJ was a bright gift to the world and to his family. He was a happy, ticklish baby boy with a joyful spirit that touched everyone around him. His favorite color was blue, and he loved his blanket and the comforting sound of his mama’s voice. He especially loved to play with his sissy. His first words were “mama” and “banana,” and he was just beginning to say “dada.” When cartoons were on the TV, he was completely glued to the screen. TJ was eager to grow—wanting to start walking before he ever perfected crawling—and he always wore a smile for everyone he met.

TJ is survived by his loving parents, Carly Harper and Tyler Michael-Alan Smith Sr. He is also survived by his grandparents, John Artman, Valerie Killeen, Michael Smith, Lindsay Bower, and Zoraya and Krisztian Boyce; his godparents, Jinx and Tyler Boyce; his siblings, Lizzy, Tessa, Tyler, Jeysha, and Jeyla; and his aunts and uncles, Jessica Harper, Richard Harper, Amanda Bench, Alex Doing, Jorden Brown, Kaila Schaffer, and Sergio Rosario; and his beloved cats: Lucifer and Reese.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Carmen Harper, and his great-grandparents, Barbra and Shirl Harper, and William and Patricia Eichele.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Czup Funeral Home 1329 Lake Ave, Ashtabula, Oh.

Hail, gentle Earth, cradle my little one.

Receive his spirit, so new to the world, and hold him safe in your deep, dark heart until the wheel turns again.

May he find rest and peace in your embrace.
