JEFFERSON - Suzanne McCune, 75, passed away early Tuesday morning August 4, 2020 at UH Geneva Memorial Hospital following a long battle with cancer.

She was born in North East, Pennsylvania on May 18, 1945 the daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Anderson) Sherrange.

Suzanne was a 1963 graduate of Jefferson High School and went on to Kent State University to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Education. She worked the first 4 years of her teaching career at Columbus Jr. High School and then dedicated the last 27 as the English teacher at the Ashtabula County Vocational Education Center (VO-ED/A-TECH) until her retirement in 2002.

On December 14, 1968 she married William McCune, and together they celebrated 51 years of marriage.

She enjoyed many hobbies before and after her retirement; she loved crafts, gardening, reading, going to the beach to collect sea shells and attending musicals and the theater. She and her husband spent 10 winters in Florida following their retirement. Suzanne considered her daughters and grandchildren to be her and Bill's greatest joy in life.

She is survived by her loving family: her husband Bill, her daughters: Melissa (Shamus) Walters of Hillard, Ohio and Melinda (Scott) Oswiecinski of Dublin, Ohio; her grandchildren: Taven and Caden Walters and Ben and Ryan Oswiecinski; her sister Leslie (Fred) Trautlein of Jefferson and her nieces Suzanne Saccomanno and Sara Waite.

Services will be held on Saturday August 8th, 2020 at Czup Funeral Home, 1329 Lake Avenue Ashtabula; visitation will be from 10:00-12:00 and the funeral services will be starting at 12:00 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in her name to the Wounded Warriors Project, one of her favorite charities
