Shirley Kase Obituary

Shirley Joan (Davis) Kase, 93, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 10, 2025, at her home in Mentor, Ohio.

Shirley was born on July 12, 1932, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Walter Davis and Jean Charske.

Shirley graduated from Shore High School in Euclid, Ohio in 1950. On July 23, 1951, she married the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Kase, they shared sixty-nine wonderful years of marriage together until his passing in early 2021. Shirley worked as a Crossing Guard for the Euclid Police Department where she retired from after twenty-five years of service.

Shirley's favorite place to travel with her husband and grandchildren was Walt Disney World, she loved everything Mickey Mouse and made so many wonderful memories throughout the years at the Magical Kingdom. Shirley enjoyed painting ceramics and made many beautiful pieces that can still be found on display in the homes of her family during the many holiday seasons. She was a wonderful homemaker, a great cook and even better baker, whose many guests enjoyed meals at her table, no one ever left her home hungry. Her memory will live on in every dish of hers we make and every handwritten recipe passed down.

Shirley took great pride in the accomplishments of her grandchildren, attending many significant events with an unwavering presence and support. She was the family’s biggest fan, always found cheering from the stands at ice skating competitions and softballs games to beaming with pride in the audience at varied school performances.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, David Davis; her beloved husband, Chuck Kase and her dear daughter, Deborah MacNaughton.

She is survived by her loving son, Kenneth (Nancy) Kase, who provided her with the gift of dignified, loving care in her final years; her son-in-law, Mike MacNaughton; her grandchildren: Nathan (Beth) Kase, Jackie Rossi, Theresa (Andy) Lehman and Christopher (Jami) MacNaughton; and her great-grandchildren: Owen Rossi, Gabriella and Landon Kase, Madeline and Noah Lehman and Tiva, Sol and Lio MacNaughton.

In keeping with Shirley’s final wishes, she will be laid to rest in the Spring where she and her beloved husband, Chuck, will forever be reunited.

A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful nursing staff at the Hospice of the Western Reserve and dear friend, Judy Trunc for the kind and compassionate care given to Shirley during her final days.
