Shirley Wanda Brown

Shirley Wanda Brown, 86, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025.

She was born on July 7, 1939, the daughter of the late John and Wanda (Crawford) Kapala.

A lifelong resident devoted to her family and community, Shirley was active as a Republican Precinct Committee member and a dedicated 4-H Club leader. She enjoyed spending time with her sewing club, and was an avid bowler and golfer, participating for many years in the Reliance League.

Shirley is survived by her loving daughter, Deanna (Rick Taylor) Mishler; daughter in law, Debra Brown; grandsons, Garrett (Shannon) Brown and Gabriel (Lauren) Brown; and great-granddaughters, Cora and Amelia. She is also survived by her siblings: Judith Fry, Ronald Kapala, Dorothy Lawrence, Joan Galantine, Darlene Graham, and Betty Jean Kukulka.

She was preceded in death by her parents and Dean Alan Brown, who passed away in October 2017.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM at Czup Funeral Home, 1329 Lake Ave, Ashtabula, OH.
