Roy English

Roy C. English, 68, went home to be with our Lord after fighting a long, brave battle with cancer on February 22, 2021 at home in Mentor with his family by his side. He was born on March 22, 1952 in Conneaut, Ohio the son of Floyd E. and Mary C. (Lowery) English.

Roy graduated from Edgewood High School in Ashtabula in 1970.  Roy first worked for Cotton Club as a driver then went to Gil Schwartz as a driver, then went to Heritage Beverage as a draft tech and ended his career with Superior Beverage as a draft tech.  He retired in 2018 but continued to work part time as a delivery driver for Parts Pro in Wickliffe.

Roy married the love of his life, Sarah J. (Price) English on August 12, 1978.  Together they raised four wonderful children and shared forty-two amazing years together as husband and wife.

Roy enjoyed watching NASCAR races and was an enthusiast of old John Deere tractors. He was a proud Boy Scout Leader and enjoyed gardening with the help of his grandkids.

Roy is survived by his loving family, his wife: Sarah Jane (Price) English; his children: Jennie (Michael) DeMoss, Matthew (Shannon) English, Joseph English and Brian (Laura) English; his siblings: Judy (Steve) Sackett, Ken English, Carol English-Dean, Jim English, Kay (Mark) Canfield, Sandy St. Angelo, Joyce Bovee and Starr Adams; his grandchildren: Cody DeMoss, Zachary, Emma, Caitlin, Jacob and Bella.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Floyd E. and Mary C. (Lowery) English and his brother Floyd English Jr.

Visitation will be held on April 24, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Lakeshore Assembly of God 8880 Lakeshore Blvd. Mentor, Ohio with a funeral service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. Czup Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements for the family.
