Richard A. (Harpold) Fowler, 76, of Madison, Ohio, passed away suddenly on August 13, 2024, at University Hospitals Geneva Medical Center in Geneva, Ohio. He was born August 22, 1947, in Charleston, West Virginia, the son of Fredrick E. Harpold and Delores June Walker. After graduating from high school, Richard proudly served his country for several years in the United States Army. Richard worked for The Plain Dealer for many years until his retirement in 2005.
He loved motorcycles, computers, reading, and was known to be a “funny guy.” He is survived by his sons, Darin Fowler and Bryan Fowler and their children, and his siblings Toni (Harpold) Randall, Kathryn (Hanna Epes) DeLong, and Kathryn A. Carroll, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Harpold and Paul Harpold, and sister, Cynthia Cooper.
In keeping with Richard’s known wishes, there will not be any public services held. Czup Funeral Home is honored to be handling the arrangements for the Fowler family.
