Lucile Roberts

Lucile Bernice (Taylor) Roberts, 102, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2021 in Saybrook Township.  Lucile was born on January 1, 1919 in Ashtabula, Ohio the daughter of Sterling and Irene (Andersen) Taylor.

Lucile graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1937.  Lucile married the love of her life, Richard Allen Roberts on December 28, 1946.  She was a proud homemaker who had many interests and hobbies; she enjoyed home decorating, gardening and she loved to travel.  Lucile was a talented and accomplished pianist; she played piano for many years and accompanied the organist during Sunday Church Services. She was a talented seamstress, taught piano, and enjoyed ballroom dancing.  She was an active member at the Second Congressional Church in Ashtabula, Ohio where she was a member of the Women's Evening Fellowship Club.

Lucile is survived by her loving daughter, Rebecca Roberts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Richard Allen Roberts Jr., her sisters: Mary Jane, Marge and Frances.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. -11:45 a.m. at Czup Funeral Home, 1329 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio.  Burial will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. at Edgewood Cemetery.
