Lisa Diane Rogers/Carr, 58, of Union City, PA suddenly passed away on May 14, 2024. Her loss was unexpected and left her family and friends profoundly saddened. She wrote to her daughters in a 2023 letter, "I wish my life with you could go on for eternity."
Lisa was born on February 23, 1966 in Michigan to Harry and Jeanette Rogers. In 1967, her family moved to Georgia where Lisa lived until she, her husband and their two daughters moved to Pennsylvania, where she spent the rest of her days.
Lisa worked off and on throughout the years while also making a home for her family. She worked as a waitress, a nurses aide, a cleaner, a factory worker and a laborer. As a young woman, she painted commercial buildings with her father. Lisa found joy in every position she filled.
Lisa loved hot weather. She really enjoyed tanning outside in the summer months. Her favorite place in the world was any ocean beach. In her youth Lisa played softball and recreational volleyball. She enjoyed gardening and the time she spent tending the garden trying to teach her girls the art of it. Lisa was an avid animal lover, especially dogs, beginning with her childhood dog, Bogie.
Lisa drew people in with her fun caring personality and her zest for life. She had a smile and a laugh that was so genuine and contagious that it inspired awe. It was clear that her joyful demeanor was simply her nature and came from her soul. Consider yourself fortunate if you were able to stand with her in her light. Despite her own suffering and pain, she was the first to help lift others up. She often quoted Hebrews 13:2, 'Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing, some have unwittingly entertained angels.'
Lisa lived a tough but beautiful, meaningful life rich in love, resilience, compassion and profound impact on others. To say that she will be missed is an immense understatement.
Lisa is survived by her two daughters, Cassandra Carr/Dettling (Todd Dettling) and Brandi Carr (Bruce Coulter), four granddaughters, Syrae, Amine, Kinlee and Kenya her grand-dog, Onyx, siblings, Donna Rogers/Lummus (Tim Lummus) and Will Rogers (Melissa Rogers). Lisa is also survived by nieces nephews, aunts and uncles and friends who will miss her fun and laughter.
Lisa is preceded in death by her husband Michael Carr, her parents, Harry and Jeanette Rogers, and her grand-dogs, Bone and Blaze.
There will be a celebration of Lisa's life at a later date, further details will be shared soon.
