He was born in Ashtabula on May 11, 1947, the son of Peter and Shirley (Kendall) Mauro.
Kenneth graduated from Edgewood High School in Ashtabula in 1967. Shortly after graduating he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country from 1967-1971.

Kenneth enjoyed many interests and hobbies: he loved working on and remodeling his back yard, he served as an OSHAA umpire and truly enjoyed his time spent serving as a Coach at St. John’s School. Kenneth was part of the Harbor High School Football Games Chain Gang for many years then moved on to being part of the Chain Gang at St. John’s School. Kenneth’s true source of happiness and joy was spending time with his beloved family; he loved being “Papa” to his seven grandchildren whom he adored.
