Judith Palm Obituary

Judith Ann Palm, 77, of Ashtabula, passed away unexpectedly after working in her yard on May 30, 2025, at Ashtabula Regional Medical Center.

She was born on November 19, 1947, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Warren and Gladys (Campbell) Palm.

Judy graduated from Harbor High School in 1965, she also attended Ashtabula High School and enjoyed going to the reunions of both schools and reconnecting with lifelong friends.

Judy was a caregiver. She looked after family, friends and animals at different stages of life. She shared stories and loved to laugh and catch up with friends and family. She was known to strike up a conversation with strangers and enjoyed sharing a smile with all. Judy loved an array of music and enjoyed attending concerts. She would share that she danced in her living room, doctor’s offices and wherever a good song was playing.

Judy wanted to make a difference in the world and contributed to a plethora of organizations. She loved to make chili and an assortment of soups and shared these as gifts, with company, and with neighbors. She opened her home for holiday gatherings with many fond memories created.

Judy loved to travel and enjoyed many vacations with friends and family. A few of her adventures included camping and trips to Canada, Maine, Florida, Michigan, California, Las Vegas, Tennessee, and Hawaii.

She lived in many places throughout her life, but she really enjoyed being by the lake. She often drove to Lake Shore Park or Walnut Beach to watch the sunset, enjoy the seagulls, and experience the change of seasons. She also had a boat and enjoyed hours of fishing and sharing the catch as a delicious fish fry.

Judy was a person of many talents including beautiful handwriting and letter writing, her talent for making thoughtful care baskets, and sharing special cards for all occasions. These talents also included hard work, she was not afraid to jump in and lent a helping hand no matter what the project. She was a painter, she hung wallpaper, she worked helping others with odd jobs, she enjoyed working with wood, with carpentry skills and range of projects completed. She was employed at Carlisle’s on Main Ave as an Estee Lauder Cosmetics Consultant, she managed the State Liquor Store on Main Ave, she was the Custodian at the Kingsville Public Library, and these are just a few of the many hats she wore throughout her exciting life.

Judy is survived by her sister, Phyllis (Jim) Coutts, and brother, Richard Palm along with many nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her lifelong friend and roommate, Pat Kangas and her cherished pets, Nikki, Casey, and Lexi.
