Jose Gilio Padilla Ortiz

Jose Gilio Padilla Ortiz, 78, passed away on July 7, 2024, at his home in Saybrook, Ohio.

He was born on July 19, 1945, in Orocovis, Puerto Rico; the son of Juan Padilla Vazquez and Francisca Ortiz Ortiz.

On December 25, 1971, Jose married his beautiful bride, Migdalia Ortiz Melendez. Together they shared fifty-two years of love and happiness, being blessed with two children and a lifetime of priceless memories together.

Jose was self-employed for over forty years as a talented carpenter.

He enjoyed baseball, tending to his plants and watching Christmas movies.  His true source of happiness came from spending time with his family and his beloved cats and dogs.

He is survived by his loving wife, Migdalia; his children, Jose G. (Melissa Ann) Padilla; his grandchildren: Adrianna (James Smith), Tatiana (Isiaha Parks), Ja Lynn, Alayna and Jasmine. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Alberto and Carmen.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 12:00p-3:00p at the Vanna Shores Community Room, 5930 Lake Road West in Saybrook, Ohio.
