John P. Daughtry
Ashtabula- John Peter Daughtry, 70, passed away on October 3, 2025, with family by his side and in the comfort of his own home following a long illness.
He was born in Warren, Ohio, on June 8, 1955, the son of Parnell and Mary (York) Daughtry.
John was a hard-working and well-respected union carpentry laborer with the Cleveland Local #435. He took a great deal of pride in every project that he worked on and his 40-year career as laborer.
On October 2, 2010, John married Jacqueline Burnett. And well, John had a wild side in his younger years after he had met Jackie he and his life had changed forever for the better.
Jon absolutely loved being outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. For many years he would hit the open road and take long rides on his Harley. He was also a member of the Ashtabula, Rod and Gun Club, he enjoyed his time there and his fellow members. One of the greatest things to ever happen to John was when he took on the new title of “Papa”. He absolutely adored his grandson and the times that they spent together.
John is survived by his wife Jacque; his sons: Levi (Amanda) Daughtry and Joshua Daughtry, his daughter Elizabeth (Windoel) Hernandez; his grandson Dominic Daughtry; his brother Ken (Marie) Panzarella; his mother-in-law Catherine Burnett; as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law and his nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and his brother Sam “Butch” (Loretta) Panzarella.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Czup Funeral Home, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, from 5:00-7:00. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 5717 Seven Hills Road, Ashtabula with Bishop Keith Rossiter presiding; burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Jefferson, Ohio.
Memorial contributions can be made in his name to St. John School or to Hospice of the Western Reserve, Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
