Jerry Leo Jones

Jerry L Jones 75 passed away unexpectedly on November 23, 2025 at the Ashtabula Regional Medical Center Emergency Room. 

He was born in Ashtabula on February 20, 1950, the son of John and Nina (Fulkerson) Jones. On March 20, 1970 he married Gloria Fox, his beloved wife of 54 years.

Jerry was a coal miner in West Virginia for many years.  He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God.  Jerry was a gifted musician. He sang and played the guitar and performed Christian music with his group of friends in a band called Voices of Victory.  The only thing more important to Jerry than his faith in God was his love for his family.

Jerry is survived by his loving family; his sons: Jerry “JR” (Patty) Jones and Karl Jones; his grandchildren, that he absolutely adored: Bethany, Jonathan, Tiffany, Meghan, Shannon, Allan, Sunlite, Solita. Eklipse, Galaxie, Devin, and Jesse; his brother, John (Debbie) Jones and many great grandchildren; and his sister Hattie Story; and his faithful old pal and dog of 20 years, "Conan".

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gloria in 2025, his son Danny in 2018 and his siblings: Larry Jones, Barry Jones, Janice Morale, Kathy Carroll, Suzie Kudjuwinski, Helen Jones, Terri Lynn Morales and Claudia Coy.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Czup Funeral Home, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, OH. Calling hours will be held from 5:00-6:00 with the funeral service starting at 6:00.  Rev. Kenny Roberts will be leading the services Wednesday evening.
