Jason Leonard

Jason Leonard, 64, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024, at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, Ohio.

He was born on November 8, 1959, in Ashtabula, Ohio; the son of James and Viola (Distelrath) Leonard.

Jason worked at the Gazette in the 1980’s and spent most of his employment in the printing field. He also worked in construction and most recently he transitioned to installing all types of flooring.

He loved fishing, especially at Pymatuning Lake with his sister, Patty. He also enjoyed hunting so much so that he worked at Scatter Gun Reserve Hunting Club in Pennsylvania.

He is survived by his loving mother, Viola Leonard; his children: Shannon Boemmel, Brook Leonard, Heather Boron, Brianna Leonard and Jason James Leonard; his siblings, Patty (Art) Risley, Mike (Patty) Leonard and Margie (Roger) Welton, Jr.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Leonard and his siblings: Kathy Eichele, Karen Sapp and Tim Leonard.

In keeping with Jason's known wishes, there will not be any public services.
