Iva Marie Parsons, 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 16, 2025, in Saybrook Township, Ohio.
She was born on January 26, 1936, in Charleston, West Virginia the daughter of Delford and Dessie (Summers) Taylor.
Iva was the loving and devoted wife of the late William “Jack “Parsons.
Iva worked for many years for the Geauga County children’s services as well as the manager of the Burrows Bookstore. She enjoyed photography, doll making, stained glass, ceramics, and was a talented seamstress. She was also a proud member of The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Her greatest passion in life was the love she had for her children and grandchildren; they truly were her pride and her joy. She and Jack always felt very blessed with the family that God gave them.
She is survived by her loving family; her children: Carla (Monte) Frolich, Terrie (Al) Lewis and Timothy (Lynn) Parsons; Her grandchildren: Faith, Dessie, Tim, Ben, and Nate; And her siblings: Al (Martha) Taylor and Ellen Taylor
Iva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack on December 15, 2022, her grandson, Todd Allen Lewis; and her siblings Dwayne, Arlene, and Pauline.
A brief service will be held on Friday, January 24th at 1:00 PM in the Spradling Gospel Tabernacle Church, 2421 Baker’s Fork Rd., Charleston, WV; burial will follow in the Hunt-Donnally Cemetery in Charleston, West Virginia and a memorial luncheon will be held at the church following the services.
