Irene M. Bertholf
KINGSVILLE - Irene M. Bertholf, 94, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday June 9, 2019 with her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter at her side.
She was born in Ashtabula on July 10, 1924 the daughter of Julius and Elizabeth (Masko) Bader.
Irene was a 1942 graduate of Ashtabula High School. She worked in the office at A & P until it closed and then went on to become the cafeteria manager for Buckeye Local Schools until her retirement in 1986.
She was a very proud and loving mother and grandmother who loved to read, cook and do crafts.
Irene is survived by her children: Jay (Karen) Bertholf, Karen (Fritz) Poese, Jonathan (Mary) Bertholf and Gary Bertholf; her grandchildren: Kayla, Gretchen, Emily, Matt and Stephanie; her great-grandchildren: Molly, Katie, Susannah, Madelyn and Adeline; as well as many nieces and nephews who were all very dear to her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, and her siblings: Elizabeth Takacs, Helen Sollie and Julius Bader.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 at St. Peters Episcopal Church, 4901 Main Street, Ashtabula. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00. Burial will follow in LuLu Falls Cemetery.
Irene and her family wanted to personally thank Hospice of the Western Reserve, The Kingsville Library, her dear neighbors Sue & Fred Herter, the Kingsville F.D. and the girls at the Ashtabula Clinic for all they have done for her over the years.
