Evelyn M Yokosuk
ASHTABULA - Evelyn M. Yokosuk, 90, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
She was born in Geneva, Ohio on September 26, 1934, the daughter of Joseph and Anne (Kovalcik) Czayka.
Evelyn graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1953. On December 26, 1959, she married John Yokosuk. Together they are blessed with 60 years of marriage that was filled with love and happiness, and they were blessed with 4 children.
Evelyn worked for Carlisle‘s department store and then went onto work for JCPenney for over 20 years. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, games, dancing and collecting antiques. She was an active and dedicated member of First Grace Gospel Church and also loved being a member of the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her loving sons: Mark, Peter (Kimberly), and Nathan (Pearl) Yokosuk; her daughter-in-law, Debbie Yokosuk; her sisters: Marian Masters and Joanne Shaffer; her grandchildren: Michael, Morgan (Ryan) Webber, Matthew (Alexandra), and Brandon (Angie) Birch; and her great-grandchildren: Mia, Layla and Lydia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John in 2019, her son Brian in 2009, and her brother Richard Czayka.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 29 at the First Grace Gospel Church, 5730 Adams Ave., Ashtabula, OH. Calling hours will be held from 12:00-1:00 with the funeral service beginning at 1:00. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the church.
