Eric "Rick" B. Settelen

Eric (Rick) Beresford Settelen, age 81 passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026 at County Club Rehabilitation Campus at Ashtabula.  He is survived by, Linda Adkins, his significant other for over 40 years, his two daughters Lynne (Bob) Miner and Julie (Jerry) MacKellar, both from Jefferson and two sons, Damien Settelen of Montana and Daniel (Yoshiko) Settelen of Japan.  He has several grandchildren and great grandchildren.    Rick was a great man who loved jokes and loved to travel, one of his favorite stories to tell was about his trip to Africa, particularly Kenya and his adventures there and the people that he met.  He could tell you stories for hours of his younger life from his Malibu California days and all the actors and actresses he got to interact with.   There he worked as an aircraft dispatcher for PanAm and also Malibu Lumber before moving to Mt Kisco, NY where he worked at Lloyd’s Lumber.    Rick met Linda in 1989 where he moved to Ashtabula.  Rick  worked at Kmart and started volunteering at ACMCs skilled nursing unit, where he volunteered for over 20 years.  Rick earned several recognitions from Local and State levels for his volunteer work while he was there.   

A private service will be held for the family and then at a later date a spring burial will be announced.   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, PO Box 72101, Cleveland, OH 44192.
