Dennis J. Deitz, 69, a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast who lived life on his own terms, rode off into the sunset on Friday, November 8, 2024, at his residence in Kingsville, after a long battle with Parkinson's. Born on November 2, 1955, in Ashtabula, Dennis called Kingsville his lifelong home. He was a 1974 graduate of Edgewood High School and honorably served in the United States Navy.
Dennis was known for his strong yet charming nature. He loved the open road and the thrill of riding his Harley-Davidson, especially his Fat Boy. Shortly before his diagnosis in 2011, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of riding his Harley across the United States, a journey he often recounted with great fondness.
More than anything, Dennis cherished his family, especially his grandchildren; Hayden and Ellise Murphy. He would light up when talking about Hayden's future nursing career or Ellise's passion for music.
He was reunited with his parents, Frank and Arleta Deitz, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Deitz; his daughter, Jodie (Cliff) Murphy; his grandchildren, Hayden and Ellise Murphy; his sister, Debra Klingensmith; and brother, Gregg Deitz.
No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dennis's name to Hospice of the Western Reserve Ashtabula, who provided compassionate care during his final days.
