ASHTABULA - Carson Jackson, 78, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the home and the loving care of his daughter, Kelly and her husband Chester “Bud” Winchell. He has spent the last years of his life there as he courageously battled Alzheimer’s Disease and most recently cancer.
Carson was born July 25, 1946, to his parents Eugene and Pearl Jackson.
He was fun-loving and witty. He liked to go for long drives and enjoyed eating fried bologna sandwiches. He loved watching westerns, playing card games, trivia, watching Jepordy and Name That Tune. He especially loved reading to his great granddaughter, Ellie.
Carson was employed at Rockwell Brake until their closing. He then worked at Avery Dennison/Fasson until his retirement.
Carson is survived by his wife, Kay of Eastlake, his daughters: Carla (Chuck) Oliver, Kelly (Chester “Bud”) Winchell, Jenny (Scott) Soden, all of Ashtabula, Courtney (Geoff) Brugh , of Eastlake and son, Travis Jackson, of Ashtabula, sister, Glada, brothers: Ron, Tim and Brad, all of Portsmouth , Ohio, his step-children: Jarrod (Shannon ) Kocin, of Washington and Kristi Kocin, of Eastlake and Brett (Barb) Turner He was the proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.
Carson was proceeded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
In honor of his wishes no public services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Crossroads Hospice.
