ASHTABULA-Carol Anne Stenroos, 70, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, following a brave 9 year battle with early onset Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born on June 16, 1954 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Steve and Rose (DeAnna) Guerriero.
Carol graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1972. In 1976, she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served her country.
She worked for over 30 years for the Electric company (First Energy) finally retiring in 2011.
On October 10, 1992, she was united in holy matrimony with David K. Stenroos. Together they were blessed with 32 years of love and friendship. Although it was cut short by her passing, they have built a lifetime of memories together.
Carol loved music and would start most mornings singing her favorite songs. She and Dave loved to travel. She loved to cook and bake, to entertain guests, and host family gatherings. She loved to share her time and talents helping others. She was the main organizer of the “Share Your Christmas” company fundraiser with fellow CEI employees and she organized and ran the volleyball fundraiser for the Ashtabula Speech, Hearing, and Rehab Center.
She is survived by her loving family: Her loving husband, David; her loving children: Mackenzie Stenroos and David (Jessica) Stenroos; her grandchildren: Grayson and Rylee; her sister DeAnna Castrilla; and her nieces: Jo Anna Castrilla and Nicole (David) Clayman.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Samuel and Stephen Guerriero.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Adoration Hospice in Ashtabula, OH and Avow Hospice in Naples, FL for their exceptional care of Carol. Their kindness and support made such a difference during a difficult time.
Services to celebrate Carol‘s life will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Czup Funeral Home, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, OH. Calling hours will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service starting at 4:00 p.m.
