Betty Jean (Huffman) Swickard

Betty J. Swickard, 79, passed away November 6, 2024, in Cleveland at MetroHealth Medical Center.

She was born in Ashtabula on September 13, 1945, the daughter of Clarence and Roberta (Swartz) Huffman.

Betty was a proud graduate of Harbor High School’s Class of 1963.  After graduation she worked for Turner’s Drug Store.

On September 19th, 1964, Betty married William Swickard, and over the past 60 years Betty and Bill have made a family together that was filled with love and devotion that was blessed with children, grandchildren, and a lifetime of priceless memories.

Betty was a proud and loving mom who was blessed to stay at home to raise her girls as they grew up. She was a devout Christian who enjoyed reading the Bible.  She also enjoyed singing, country music, crafts and playing the piano.  Her favorite times were those spent with family, especially the holidays.    

She is survived by her loving family: husband Bill, daughters: Cathy (Ron) Lewis and Jennifer Swickard; grandchildren: Daniel and Emily McIntyre; and sisters: Janet Kennedy and Deloris “Dodie” (James) Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Gerald and William Huffman; and favorite little pal, her dog “Tiny”.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Edgewood Cemetery on Saturday November 9th at 12:00 p.m.  Czup Funeral Home, 1329 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula is honored to be handling the services for Betty’s family.  www.czupfuneral.com
