Barbara (Masters) Wilson passed away on Friday, July 26th surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late John and Irene (Repasky) Masters and a lifetime resident of Ashtabula County. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence, whom she married on June 26th, 1976; children: Michael (Amy) Wilson, Jennifer (Jacob) Kinosh, Kathleen (Anthony) Wissel, Dr. Kimberly Wilson (Jerod Patzner); a sister, Tina Masters (St. Louis, MO); numerous cousins; and six cherished grandchildren: Matthew, Kaitlyn, Connor, Madeline, Eleanor and Andrew.
Dedicating her life to education and service, Barbara spent over 30 years as a teacher between the Jefferson Area School District and the Grand River Academy (Austinburg, OH). As a loving wife and mother, she was most proud of her “four good kids.” She shared her enthusiasm for volunteering, crocheting, reading, gardening, and watching sports with her family and friends. After retirement, Barb traveled with her husband to visit family, notable US cities, historic landmarks, National Parks, the British Isles and numerous Frank Lloyd Wright houses.
The Catholic faith was a cornerstone of Barbara’s life. She graduated from St. John High School in 1969, Notre Dame College in 1973, and raised her children as active members of the St. Joseph Calasanctius parish (Jefferson, OH).
A celebration of life Mass will be held at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church on Wednesday, August 7th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either St. Joseph Calasanctius Church or Hospice of the Western Reserve in her honor.
