Barbara Swiger Obituary

Barbara Mary Swiger, 90, of Ashtabula, Ohio passed away on August 15, 2022, at her home.

Born April 14, 1932, in Madison, Ohio, the daughter of the late Merle and Edith (Pennoyer) Rea.

She married Delbert Bollinger on September 18, 1950.

Barbara worked in several nursing homes and Ashtabula General Hospital.; she retired from Twin City
Hospital in Dennison, Ohio.

Barbara married Donald Swiger on May 29, 1984.

Barbara had many interests, she enjoyed crocheting, especially making baby blankets, sewing, cooking,
baking and reading. She made incredible homemade pies. She was a member of Covered Bridge
Chapter of the Eastern Star and was a devoted member of Saybrook United Methodist Church in
Ashtabula.

She is survived by her children: Diane (Wiley) Martin, Robert Bollinger and Karen (Gerald) Klimek; her
brother, Richard (Marge) Rea, her grandchildren: Heather, Shannon, Kimberly; her great grandchildren:
Brannon, Dominick, Shaylin, Teagan and Abbigail.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald; her son, Larry Bollinger, her great
granddaughter, Caitlin; her former husband, Delbert; her brother, Clifton Rea; her sisters: Eloise
Williams and Geraldine Cunningham.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Saybrook United Methodist Church, 7900 Depot Road, Ashtabula, Ohio, with an Eastern Star service immediately following.

No flowers are needed. A donation to the charity of your choice may be made in her name, if you wish.
