Wanda Lee (Moody) Acierno

Wanda Lee (Moody) Acierno, 84, passed away on June 7^th, 2023, at Ashtabula County Medical Center in Ashtabula, Ohio.

Wanda was born on July 19^th, 1938, in Boomer, West Virginia, the daughter of Frank J. and Eva (Kirby) Moody.

She graduated from Edgewood High School in 1956. Wanda was very active throughout high school; she was a cheerleader, she played basketball, she was the Homecoming Queen and a member of the National Honor Society. She went on to attend Kent State University where she majored in English.

On March 3^rd, 1962, Wanda married Joseph A. Acierno; they were blessed with thirty-one years of wonderful marriage together until Joseph’s passing in November of 1993.

Wanda worked for the Ashtabula County 503 Corporation and the Ashtabula County Commissioner’s Office where she dedicated thirty years of service before retiring. She also worked alongside her husband, managing his Law Office.

Wanda enjoyed cooking, baking and hosting huge family gatherings.  She found such joy and happiness in helping to raise her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving children: Jacqueline (Christopher, Sr.) Siekkinen, Pamela (Jacintho) Claudio, Andrea (David) Kalil and Regina Sergent; her grandchildren: Jada, Christopher, Jr., Brendon (Mariah), Brandi (Joseph), Bianca (Jay), Briella, Eli, Jessica (Daniel), Heather and Amy; her eleven great-grandchildren and her brother, Jack Moody.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph, her siblings: James Moody, Lula Jane Wolchik and Marie Gregg and her granddaughter, Christina Acierno.

A private family service will be held on Tuesday, June 13th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Czup Funeral Home, 1329 Lake Avenue in Ashtabula.  Immediately following the service, Wanda will be laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery.  At Wanda’s request there will only be a private family service held.
