Robert Ginn

Robert A. Ginn, 83, passed away December 26, 2019.
He was born in Ashtabula on January 10, 1936, the son of Joseph and Helen (Koskondy) Ginn.
Robert was a graduate of Ashtabula High School.

On January 21, 1956 he married Veronica Rapose, his loving bride of almost 64 years.

He worked 44 years for Conrail until finally retiring in 1997.  He served as the union rep and contract negotiator for many years while on the railroad.

Robert enjoyed working on the yard at home, working on cars and computers.  He was an avid bowler and has had two perfect “300” games in his career.  He was a kind and compassionate man and proud and loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Veronica; his children: Linda (Tim) Lachey of Ashtabula, Michael (Carrie) Ginn of San Louis Obispo. CA and Lisa (Todd) Barbian, of Ashtabula; his grandsons: Austin and Alec Barbian and Anthony Ginn; and his siblings: Joseph (Nadine) Ginn, Jean Orsuto, Marie (Frank) Zigman, Richard (Lynn) Ginn, David (Judy) Ginn and Marlene Whelpley and his sister-in-law Carol Ginn

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Steve in 2018, his brother Charles and his sister Charlotte Melaragno.

Calling hours will be held Thursday from 10:30-11:30 at the CZUP FUNERAL HOME, 1329 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula.  Funeral services will also be held Thursday at 12:00 at Mother of Sorrows Church, 1464 W. 6th Street Ashtabula.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
