Robert “Bob” Lehto, 83, passed away on January 10th, 2023, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home in Ashtabula, Ohio.
He was born on September 22nd, 1939, in Conneaut, Ohio, the son of Melvin and Dorothy (Scott) Lehto.
Bob graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1958. He proudly joined the United States Air Force and served his country before being honorably discharged.
He married Jacqueline Loyd on September 3, 1966; they shared 23 wonderful years of marriage together before her passing in 1990.
Bob was self-employed, he specialized in boat repair, plumbing, and electrical work. He also owned and operated Lehto Excavating and Trucking as well as being a truck driver for other companies.
He had many interests and hobbies: he enjoyed boating, especially power boating; he loved water and snow skiing and ice skating. He was also a talented mechanic who enjoyed working on cars and trucks of all makes and models. He will always be remembered as a hard worker who loved his family.
He is survived by his loving children: Marcena “Marcy” (Jerry) Katcher, Rebecca “Becky” (John) Whitaker; his loving companion of the past 30 years Pat DeLaney and her children: Erinn (Ehren) Baur and Todd (Elizabeth) DeLaney and grandchildren: Lexie and Adam that he loved like his own; his grandchildren: Andy (Lucia), Audrey, Lucy, J.J., Charlie, Brady, Justin, and Grant; his sister, Joyce (Paul) Specht and his brother-in-law, Larry Boyce.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jackie and his sister, Karen “Kay” Boyce.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 21st, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Ridgeview Cemetery in Ashtabula. A luncheon will follow the service.
