Matthew Gerald O'Brien

Matthew Gerald O’Brien, 56, passed away on September 19, 2022, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio.

He was born on March 11, 1966, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Alfred and Judith (Johns) O’Brien.

Matthew graduated from Canfield High School in 1984, then attended Youngstown State University where he received is bachelor’s degree in Education.

On November 6, 1993, he married the love of his life, Diana O’Brien, they shared twenty-eight wonderful years of marriage together.

He worked as a welder and was also a concessioner where his specialty was “O’Brien Fries”.

Matthew enjoyed gardening, bee keeping and tapping maple trees for syrup.

Matthew is survived by his mother, Judith O’Brien; his loving wife, Diana O’Brien, his children: James Schiller and Lee (Darius) Elkin; his sister, Brenda (Doug) Christenson and his nieces: Vicki and Molly Christenson.

He is preceded in death by his father, Alfred O’Brien.

In keeping with Matthews known wishes a private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
