Mary C. Melaragno
ASHTABULA - Mary Carolyn (Cupido) Melaragno, 86, passed away very peacefully in the early hours of December 18, 2020.
She was born in Ashtabula on May 19, 1934 the daughter of Carmen and Rose (Mazzatenta) Cupido.
Mary graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1952. While she excelled at so many things academically and athletically in high school Mary's first priority was to her family business, Cupido's Market ("Rosie's”).
On September 1, 1956 at Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Church she married Bernard Melaragno, her loving and dedicated husband of 64 years. Following her marriage she still helped run the family business but her main priority shifted to caring for her own family. She and Bernie were blessed with three daughters, three grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Her world revolved around the love she had for her family.
She is survived by her loving family: her husband Bernard; her daughters: Bernadette (Karl) Cimorelli; Jamie (Michael) Pollack and Julie (David) Miller; her grandchildren: Kayla Cimorelli, Jake Cimorelli, and Jessica (Brian) Shank; her great-granddaughter Penelope Shank and her nieces Jaclyn (Rick) Featsent and Janet (Robert) Fish.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Carmen Cupido.
In honor of her wishes no public services will be held. A Mass of Christian Burial will be observed, and burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association-Cleveland Chapter or to UH Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.
The entire family would like to extend the most heartfelt “thank-you” to Mary’s amazing team of caregivers that made it possible for her to be able to stay in her own home these past 7 years as her health declined.
