Joanne Clemens, 71, of St. Paul, MN, passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Peace Hospice in St. Paul, MN, ending her two-year, bravely fought battle with ovarian cancer.
Joanne was born in Bluefield, West Virginia to Robert and Virginia Locke, and was the oldest of their 6 children. At the age of 2, they moved to Ashtabula where she grew up and she always considered Ashtabula to be her true home.
She graduate from Edgewood High School in 1966 then attended Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio. In 1969 she began her 33 year career as a United Airlines Flight Attendant.
Joanne is survived by her husband: George Clemens of St. Paul, MN; her siblings: Jeanne Moehring of Colorado Springs, CO, John (Babette) Locke, Jim (Elena) Locke of Ashtabula and Jane (Jim) Phan of Chardon. She is also survived by much loved nieces and nephews and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Virginia Locke and her brother:Jerry Locke.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and her ashes will be interred in the Edgewood Cemetery, as she wished to be back home with her family.
