Jerry “JR” Ray Blankenship, 40, passed away at his home in Cincinnati, Ohio and joined his little brother Tommy in heaven on March 2, 2021.
Born on December 23, 1980 in Conneaut, Ohio, the son of Carmen Ray Blankenship and Pamela K. Newlun.
Jerry was an Ashtabula High School graduate and went on to have a career as a diesel mechanic working on both semis and cars.
Jerry was a down to earth peaceful man who loved the simple things in life such as fishing, camping with big bonfires and camo.
As an adult Jerry struggled with addiction and spent time living on the streets, but through hard work and determination he got himself clean and sober and was able to obtain an apartment and enjoy the luxuries of everyday life.
He cherished time with his family, and the memories they made will forever be remembered by all that loved him.
Survivors include his parents: Rick and Pamela Nesbitt; his children: January (Julia) Frano, Brianna Ayala, Justin Thomas Frano and Marcus A. DeGennaro-Blankenship; his grandchildren: Rosalee and Silas; his siblings: Bradley (Desiree) Blankenship, Carmen Blankenship, Carrie Blankenship, Nicholas (Casey) Enos, Matthew (Amanda) Enos and Danny (Cassie) Enos; his special niece who he loved like his own, Kiarra Blankenship and many more nieces and nephews; along with Thomas Carroll I, and Chris Enos who helped raise him.
He was preceded in death by his dad: Carmen Blankenship I; his brother: Thomas Carroll III; his cousins: Ericka Tackett and Thomas McSkimming; and many more family members in the last few years.
Visitation will be held on Saturday March 13, 2021 from 2:00pm-4:00pm a funeral service to follow at 4:00pm with Pastor Kenny Roberts officiating at Czup Funeral Home 1329 Lake Ave. Ashtabula, OH.
