Jeanette Marie (Lago) Banko, 74, passed away peacefully on February 2nd, 2021 at home following a long illness. She was born on June 14th, 1946 in Ashtabula, Ohio, the daughter of Robert and Minnie (Dunick) Lago.
Jeanette graduated from Edgewood High School in 1964. Jeanette married John Michael Banko on December 13th, 1984. She was a bus driver for Happy Hearts for 30 years and was an Emergency Responder with the NEO Catastrophic Events and Disaster Team.
Jeanette enjoyed spending time with her friends and family as she was known to be a social butterfly. She was an exceptional cook and enjoyed many arts and crafts including crocheting, making candles and being artistic with glitter and sequins. Above all, the only thing that really mattered to her in life was her family.
Jeanette is survived by her loving husband: John Michael Banko, her mother: Minnie Lago, her children: Judy (John) Cassell, Tom Otto, Kathy Poplin and Robert Otto; her step-children: Robert M. Banko and Amy Banko-Butinski; her sister: Jean (Ned) Roach; her grandchildren: Gregory Poplin and Madeline Otto and her beloved dogs: Christmas and Rosko.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Lago who passed away July 11, 1983
Family will receive guests on Saturday February 6th from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at St Joseph Church 3330 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula, Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 pm, burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Ashtabula Co. APL.
