Squeak Thompson
GENEVA - James E. "Squeak" Thompson, 71, passed away June 6, 2020 at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.
He was born in Ellwood City, PA on June 20, 1948.
After graduation he voluntarily enlisted to join the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam Conflict and proudly served his country for 6 years. He achieved the rank of Lance Corporal and also received a Purple Heart.
Squeak has been with Susan K. Torrance for the past 41 years. He was a hard working and devoted husband and father. He worked 16 years for True Temper, 12 years for G&H Auto Wrecking and 4 years for the Star Beacon.
He was a member of the Ashtabula VFW and the Ashtabula Eagles Club. He enjoyed his yearly Fantasy Football Leagues, working on his Jeeps and his other classic cars and trucks.
He is survived by his wife Susan Torrance-Thompson; his sons Joshua (Stephanie) Thompson, Victor (Tonya) Thompson, and Rob Thompson ;his grandchildren: Destiny, Sierra, Madison, Steven, Tennley and Anthony; his great-granddaughter Myah; his siblings: Dorothy (Pat) Flood, Paul "Butch" Thompson, Rodney Thompson, and Edward Schlegel.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Annette Hazeltine.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday August 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, Ohio.
