ASHTABULA – Jerry Colucci, 86, passed away on April 11, 2023, following a brief illness.
He was born in Ashtabula on June 12, 1936, the son of Anthony and Antoinette (Candela) Colucci.
He graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1954. Jerry very proudly served his country in the U.S.
Army in the 4th Infantry during the Cold War, spending tour of duty stationed in Germany.
Jerry worked for Millennium for 30 years as a Master Electrician, finally retiring in 1998.
His past 25 years of retirement were probably the most enjoyable years of his life, being able to stay
busy doing fun things with his son and daughter. He has been a 4-H volunteer for over 40 years; he
helped found the Saybrook Raiders 4-H group focusing on Rabbits and miscellaneous projects; he
worked with his son at Colucci’s Farm in Austinburg coming out to work every single day; he collected
antique toys and cars; he was an avid Notre Dame fan; he attended at least one OSU Football game a
year on Joey’s Alumni tickets and he loved to travel to all the scenic parts of the country and the
National Parks by car, train or cruise ship; he was always on the go. He enjoyed Sunday dinners at Suzi’s,
and he adored his grandson, Stephen. His life very simply revolved around his kids, always feeling
blessed to have both a son and a daughter, loving them as his children and as his best friends.
He is survived by his loving family; his son Joey Colucci, his daughter Suzi (Ron) Johnson; his grandson
Stephen Colucci; and his sister Ginger Colucci.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother George Colucci, and his sister Bonnie Kaferle.
