Fredrick Nelson
ASHTABULA-Fred Nelson, 76, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2022.
He was born on January 28, 1946, in Euclid, Ohio the son of John and Charlotte (Converse) Nelson.
Fred was a patriot and very proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his returning home from the war, it was then that Fred’s life took a turn for the best, because it was then that he married the love of his life, Deborah C. Miller; and together they built a beautiful life together.
Fred worked as a structural Ironworker for the Cleveland Local 17. He was a member of several Lake and Ashtabula County Veteran’s of Foreign War Post’s (V.F.W.’s). He loved to watch Westerns and movies about the military; he liked going to car shows; riding his Harley-Davidson; and hanging out with his buddies having a beer and telling stories. In his life Fred felt very blessed to have the wife, kids, and grandkids that God gave him, he was very proud of all of them.
He is survived by his loving family: his wife Deborah C. Nelson; his children: Jason Nelson, Ian (Isabel) Nelson; and Michelle Preseren; his grandchildren: Liam, Caeman, AraBella, Charlotte, Nick and Kailey; and his mother-in-law Marian Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Thelma, Charles, Patricia, and Kathryn
Funeral services will be held on Monday May 2, 2022, at Czup Funeral Home, 1329 Lake Avenue Ashtabula, Ohio; the family will receive guest from 3:00 to 5:00 with a service to celebrate his life starting at 5:00. Military honor guard will give him his military honors following the services at roughly 5:30 p.m.
