Frank Boyle was born in Ashtabula, Ohio and always called it home. He was born on January 6th, 1929 and passed away on May 19, 2019. He graduated from Ashtabula High in 1947 and was active in sports, especially baseball and basketball. Notably, the basketball team advanced to the state Semi-Finals. He served his country in the Korean War, as a Corporal in the US Army Infantry. Upon returning from the war, he married his sweetheart, Marguerite. He was a dedicated employee of Reliance Electric for 40 years, retiring in 1987. Post-military, he played a lot of organized baseball. He later excelled in local bowling and golf leagues.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Katherine (Brooks) Boyle in 1991; parents James Boyle and Emma (Kline) Boyle; sisters Elizabeth Rose (2005), Coletta Meaney (2007); brothers John “Jack” Boyle (1945) and Robert Boyle (1977); son Gerard Lee Boyle (2017).
He is survived by his children(spouses): sons James (& Alicia) Boyle and David (& Jennie) Boyle; daughter Natalie (& Mike) Vernon; grandchildren Emily Boyle, Carrie Boyle, Edward Larko, Luke Boyle, Haley Larko, Jacqueline Boyle, and Sarah Boyle; 6 great-grandchildren; and many other loved ones.
Per his wishes, a memorial celebration of Frank’s life will take place on June 15th from noon to 3PM. It will be held at Natalie Vernon’s home at 6705 Sanborn Road, Ashtabula. No church funeral service or calling hours are planned.
