Elizabeth "Ellie" Morek

June 22, 1994 — October 15, 2019

On October 15, 2019 the world lost a beautiful light and an energetic soul after a long battle in the ICU. Elizabeth Joanan Morek, age 25, of Euclid, was born on June 22, 1994 in Brunswick, Maine to parents Dennis D. Morek, Jr.  and Lisa Sellers Morek.  2019 has been a year of strong and meaningful changes in Ellie's life.  She got to spend much needed quality time with her family strengthening those bonds.  She became Auntie Ellie.  Spending time with her "Hazelnut-butt" was precious and priceless.  She rescued yet another kitten that was being abused at a gas station.  She named this tiny ball of fur "Ellie's Cookie Mini-Meow" because of Cookie's strong resemblance to Ellie's other sweet rescue dumpster kitty, Spencer.  She spent countless hours making new friends, learning new life skills and strengthening her renewed faith.  She most recently started a new career as a veterinary assistant at Buckeye Veterinary Clinic that immediately felt like family and home.
A recent post on Instagram by Ellie, with a selfie of those piercingly beautiful eyes, read " I chose to love myself, I chose happiness, and those were the two best decisions I could ever make in my life."  Ellie's light, strength, and caring nature touched everyone she met.  Her spitfire spirit and stubborn tenacity were uniquely true.  She would standby your side, had your back, and would fight for what she believed was wrongdoing.  Her smile was contagious.  You could see through to her very soul in those expressively deep hazel green eyes.  Her huge, sentimental and loving heart will be missed every day by her Daddy, Mamma,  sister Jess, brothers Matt and Joe, sister-in-law Sophie, new niece Hazel, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Friends, Coworkers, Teammates and Community.  We ask that you all make some time to spend with one another and celebrate Ellie in the way she would have intended... One big gathering...preferably near water... A bonfire... With music... Everyone coming together and sharing hugs, laughter, love, food and stories!

The Family has started a tradition to carry on Ellie's legacy of spreading joy, hope and happiness.  Please contact Lisa to obtain sunflowers (Ellie's favorite) with an inspirational tag attached.  You can add some personal words and pass the sunflower on to brighten someone's day.  A small gesture can mean the world to a person who might be struggling.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider contributions toward Ellie's final expenses to 279 East 280 Street Euclid OH 44132.  Any funds remaining will be donated to animal shelters in true Ellie fashion.  Thank you.  May you be surrounded by strength, peace & blessings. Hug each other every chance you get.
