Edward Albert Leonhard, 94, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2022, at Country Club Retirement Campus in Ashtabula, Ohio.
Edward was born on December 8, 1927, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of Edward and Florence (Blisk) Leonhard.
After graduating from high school, he attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics where he received his aviation training then went on to become a licensed pilot. Edward worked for TWA as a pilot for more than thirty years. He was also the longtime owner of Pymatuning Lake Drive In Theatre.
Edward enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country from February 1946 to December 1948, when he was honorably discharged.
Edward enjoyed golfing, playing bridge and doing crossword puzzles. He was a big fan of watching Western’s and reading a good book.
He is survived by his children: Eddy “Laz” (Katherine) Leonhard and Karin (Ronald) Allen; his daughter-in-law, Diane Leonhard; his stepchildren: Rita Carducci and Donald (Becky) Rossi; his grandchildren: Bobbie, Zak, Tory, Michael, Korey, Kyle and Kristen; his great grandchildren: Elliott, Lola, Noah, Anvi, Gavin and one on the way and his brother, Richard Leonhard.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Gertrude (Hoflein) Leonhard, his second wife, Dolly (Calogero) Leonhard and his son, Steven Leonhard.
