David Grant Weir

David Grant Weir, 70, passed away on September 1, 2023, at his home in Ashtabula, Ohio.

He was born on June 30, 1953, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of James R. and Dorothy (Company) Weir.

David graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1971. 

On November 4, 1972, he married his beautiful bride, Terrylee Gross, together they shared fifty wonderful years of marriage.

David worked as a laborer for RMI for thirteen years and then moved to Grand River Rubber where he worked for twenty years until his retirement.

He enjoyed golf, woodworking and supporting his favorite football and baseball teams.  He was a dedicated fan of the Cleveland Browns, Indians, and the OSU Buckeyes. His greatest source of joy and happiness was being PaPa to his beloved grandchildren, this was his favorite role of all.

He is survived by his loving wife, Terrylee Weir; his sons, David Jr. (Debra) and Anthony (Angela) Weir; his grandchildren, Jordyn Weir (Michael Vitullo, Jr.), Jessica Weir, Eliana Baker, Destiny Baker, Motley Weir, Jasleen Weir, Elisha Weir, Noah Weir and Connor Morgan; his great-grandchildren: Blaize Vitullo, Chase Magda, Delia Vitullo and Xander Baker; his sisters, Anna (James) Perkins and Jamie Mackynen; his aunt, Peg Branch and his sister-in-law, Robin Weir.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Margaret Mauri and his brother, Christopher Weir.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a funeral service to immediately follow at 7:00 p.m. at Czup Funeral Home, 1329 Lake Avenue in Ashtabula.
