David Arvo Kujanpaa, age 72, formerly of Austinburg, died Monday, November 21, 2022, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center with his son at his side.
He was born on March 26, 1950, the son of the late John and Mary (Roades) Kujanpaa.
David loved the night, he was an amateur astronomer, member/co-founder of the ARAA (Addison Road Astronomical Association) and owned twelve telescopes. He also enjoyed photography, The Three Stooges, reading and watching SCI-FI, fires, flowers, gardens, rock and classical music, enjoying the outdoors and cats. He was also a member of VOV (Vikings of Vulksgaard) a Viking Age Reenactment. David routinely donated blood over the past thirty years and was an All Star donor with the American Red Cross. Even is his death, David was able to help others by being a tissue and eye donor.
Survivors include, his son, Tristan David K. Kujanpaa, of Austinburg; a brother, James T. (Donna) Kujanpaa, of Austinburg and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Rhoda Nan and his nephew, Michael.
The family would like to express a very special thank you to all the people who reached out with love, also all of the amazing nurses in the ICU and south wing at Geauga Medical Center.
There will not be any services observed at this time per David's wishes; a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
