Violet Cecelia (Dewey) Knapp

ASHTABULA – Violet Knapp, 78 passed away February 23, 2024, at Saybrook Landing Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born in Erie, PA. on May 26, 1945, the daughter of Robert and Jane (Henry) Dewey.

Violet was a very hard-working mother of 4. She worked locally as a bartender for over 20 years. She worked most of those years at the Spot Café, but also at the Frontier Bar and the ANU. Her funny and outgoing personality was always enjoyed by the customers.

She enjoyed reading and watching TV, especially WWE Wrestling and was a dedicated fan of all the Law-and-Order television shows. She was a very proud and loving mom. Her world revolved around her children and grandchildren, and she will be missed very dearly.

She is survived by her children: Loren (Susanne) Jones, Bonnie Knapp, Theresca Knapp, and Tiffinnie Knapp; her grandchildren: Shante, LaShae, Kelli, Dennis, Shahara, Johnathon, Marcell, Davaun, Jahmeil, Ryan, Dylan, and Matthew; as well as 14 great-grandchildren and her loving siblings Rev. Dorothy Hillard, Henry (Charla) Hayes and Lee Roy Dean

She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson Mario and several siblings and loved ones.

Funeral services will be held on Monday February 26, 2024, at Czup Funeral Home, 1329 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio, calling hours will be from 11:00-12:30 with the funeral service starting at 12:30 with Pastor Kenny Roberts. Her burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
